The New York Jewish world has been delivered a wonderful, critical reprieve as the secular Jewish mayor has shown tremendous sensitivity to the Jewish community’s “need” to continue the most important blood sucking ritual in our culture (that doesn’t include Matzahs).

Caught this link on a great story by a Jewish father complaining about the behavior of Jewish women at his son’s bris.

Brian Waldman wrote,

“…The women are frustrated and are now swaying back and forth and trying to stand on their tiptoes (in their high heeled shoes) and stretching their necks to get a better “view.” THEY AREN’T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE … This (women present to watch a “bris”) is a “modern” thing ,,,”

“Oh yes … I forgot to tell you about all the wonderful “comments” I received from some of the women “guests” who were upset that I “blocked their view” … Their saving grace was that they don’t make an adult-sized circumstraint for girls! Anyway … just wonderful remarks and “jokes” about circumcision and the men standing cross-legged at the back of the room holding their crotches …

The whole episode just turned me off completely … I felt like puking … I was so disgusted with those people - especially the women who seemed to make such a sport of it all … It reminded me of why I disliked Jewish women so much”

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

Perhaps a larger “calling out” is warranted?

For those of us who can’t wait to see the religious arm (as opposed to the academic arm) of the JTS sink further into a suffocating quagmire of factions, and appeasement to the various gender based social revolutions, we have to hope that Jack Wertheimer is NOT elected as the new chancellor.

Dr. Wertheimer is a scholar, and a shrewd and strategic leader. He would be a disaster - insisting that the Conservative movement retain what little is left to differentiate it from the Reform movement. Worse - he is wary of a war against the Orthodox in Israel - where the Conservative movement consistently loses every battle, draining resources and goodwill.

We (those of us who despise this German Jewish creation for Jews of Eastern European descent)need somone sensitive to pluralism, gender issues, gays, and likes telling Israel what to do.

We need a leader who will insist on gender parity for not only Rabbis, but mohelets. We need someone who will wear a tallit and marry two men, and will talk about the March of Selma at that time, paralleling the change and growth of halacha to the change and growth of society as a whole.

We need anyone but Jack Wertheimer.

And we will get him.

Fulani, the horrible Marxist of the Independence party, is still harassed for her comment that the Jews “sold their souls” for Israel. But our sages advise us to listen to the criticism of our enemies, and she is correct to some extent.

It is the nine days - let us consider what we have done wrong, not just how others have wronged us. Let us pause for a moment and actually listen to the complaints against us before we scream “anti-Semite” to celebrate the new fundraising season that Elul will usher in.

Many have questioned the Jewish community’s alliance with right-wing Christian groups. But our dubious alliances are not restricted to them. The traditional Jewish community will tolerate all sorts of nonsense as long as they promise to be dealers willing to sell us good sh-t supporters of Israel.

Modern-Orthodoxy generally has declined to crack down on the Jew-Feminists because they are supporters of Israel. This is the only reason - it is all they care about. Some of them have even resorted to accommodating their issues, if only nominally, in order to bolster their alliance.

They would never do so if Blu Greenberg and her circle of witches supporters were anti-Zionist. But since the opposite is frequently true, a deal is struck. Because druggies need dealers.

Instead of selling our grandmother’s TV for a fix, we are selling our theology for an orange (t-shirt).

We are turning our heads as the Holocausts build museums by the dozen, and demand a presence even at the scheduled museum at ground zero - perhaps not the smartest place for Jews to insist on being visible.

We do so because we fool ourselves into believing that people will be more sensitive to our Zionist concerns - not because we are so deluded to think they will stop genocide.

We know better - Rashi, who the entire Jewish community is celebrating his 900th yortzheit, explained that the Jews of Egypt died during the plague of darkness in order to hide the fact from the Egyptians that the Jews were being killed.

Rashi is clearly stating that when bad things happen to the Jews, it is nothing to brag about.

But who cares? The only thing we care about Rashi is the urban legend that his daughters wore t’fellin. We know better than Rashi. We know better than the Torah.

We are bought off so easily. So utterly.

We, the Jewish people of the U.S., should stop behaving like a desperate, strung out tranny addict willing to blow the corner John for a fix.

There is nothing wrong with wanting the best for the State of Israel, but Zionism is not a replacement for Judaism - the land and the temple are a part of the religion, not the religion in its entirety.

Feminism is not compatible with traditional Judaism. We have to stop pretending it’s okay to be their friend because they sing “HaTikvah.”

Neoncons are godless messianists. They would never be happy in traditional Jewish life, because you have to accept Jews into your minyan regardless of class or lack of an ivy league education. They brazenly order around senators, congressmen, and even presidents. The are incurring wrath against our people who are not supposed to act so arrogantly in exile. But they support Israel, so it’s okay.

We are addicts. Zionism is our crystal-meth, and we are in very bad shape.

The storm clouds grow darker and darker, despite our machinations. Perhaps we should clean up our act?

Today the Jewish world rightfully condemns the terrorism of today’s bus rider. Part of that is our own morality, but let’s be honest - this is in part to contrast, both to ourselves, and the world, the relative moral superiority of the Jews over their Muslim couterparts, who prefer, as we all know, equivication. It is for this reason, at least partially, why Jews are tripping over each other to have their condemnations recorded. But the Jewish world is not beating its breast over the continued fallout of the AIPAC scandal with the same exuberance.

Yet this is where we have more responsiblity, and more ability to affect change. For these are not the crimes of the fanatics - these are the crimes of a mainstream Zionist organization.

Perhaps the American Jewish community needs to do a house cleaning of its own, and get rid of those Jewish leaders and organizations that don’t seem to understand that the U.S. has her interests, and Israel, hers, and that confusing the two for one and the same is not only dishonest, but if taken to its illogical conclusion - treasonous.
