New Blog Tracking Big Aish
Assimilaishion is a new blog tracking Aish HaTorah’s misdeeds and reaction to Aish HaTorah elsewhere on the web.
It sounds like he had a rough ride. They should really stop messing with people like they do.

Is it just me, or does the main point of assimilaishion seem to be that Aish sucks because they haven’t found him a hot Jewish wife?
I have many problems with Aish, but this guy has got to be kidding.
themicah,
I appreciate your criticism. Perhaps we haven’t made our point as clearly as we should have. My problem with Aish is that they exploit the Holocaust and intermarriage (which they not so delicately label a spiritual holocaust) to fundraise. But when it comes to doing anything to combat intermarriage, they are no where to be found.
What are your problems with Aish? Please feel free to comment on Assimilaishion!
I have issues with Aish’s absolutism, sexism and fundraising tactics. I also disliked getting unsolicited spam e-mails from them in college advertising events but hiding the Aish connection.
But while the local STL Aish crew may not be doing a very good job of finding you a hot Jewish wife, I find it hard to believe that failing to combat intermarriage is one of Aish’s failing points. Heck, my understanding is that they practically invented speed dating.
Go ahead and expose their failings. But if you want to be taken seriously, I’d recommend toning down the “where’s my hot Jewish wife?” whining.
They may have invented speed dating, but according to their web site, there’s not a single speed dating event scheduled anywhere in the world except for Los Angeles. Everywhere else, they just whine (to use your word) about the issue.
Aish gave up speed dating. Apparently, a B’nai Torah Gadol disapproved of it. When the Right-wing Ultra-Orthodox leaders speak, Big Aish jumps.
That’s what I heard, anyway.
Did the Gadol give his reasons, and more importantly, an alternative way for people to meet?
Thanks for the shout out!
my pleasure.
