In Defense of David Duke’s Complaints About the Jews
David Duke is, of course, the former leader of the Klu Klux Klan. He is not a nice guy, and certainly no friend to the Jewish community. Many were shocked that the JTA would post his letter to Obama, outlining a lot of white nationalist anger against the Jewish community. I was shocked as well. Shocked at how much of what he said has merit.
Let’s take a look at some of the Krazy Klansman’s issues against segments of the Jewish community before we dismiss his complaints—as so many reflexively dismiss the complaints of white Christians—as racist, and therefore immaterial.
Better-qualified White students, employees, working men and women face intensive racial discrimination that you and the other major candidates deceptively call “affirmative action.”
Check! It is so bad, this gang-banging of whitey, that even the East Asians have joined in, with no outrage from anywhere to the left of race realist circles. East Asians should not be beneficiaries of quotas or affirmative action on anything.
Many White people can no longer use the public school system that their own taxes pay for because “people who aren’t like them” have made their schools awash in violence, educational mediocrity, drugs, sexual degeneracy and gangsta rap.
I don’t know how much gangsta rap really affects the white student population, but in the inner city schools, this is often all too true. I have heard far too many rich Jews condemn working class racism towards minorities in their schools even as they send or eventually will send their own children only to private schools.
Millions of White people who have paid exorbitant taxes all their lives can’t afford medical insurance and decent medical care in no small part because “people who aren’t like them,” such as illegal immigrants and able-bodied, welfare parasites, people who have paid no taxes at all, have overloaded the system.
Here, Duke is only partially correct. He doesn’t want to advocate socialism, so instead he blames it on the tax burden. But it is absurd that so many working class people are paying for others to receive socialized medicine while they receive no coverage. This is cruel and disgusting.
They are bitter because unelected economic czars such as Greenspan and Bernanke, Wolfowitz and a whole coterie of Jewish “people who aren’t like them” have ripped them off and have let so-called “free trade” destroy the American economy.
The Jewish role in promoting privatization and globalization is large and unfortunate. It is a communal embarrassment.
They are bitter because other Jewish Neocon “people who are not like them,” have led us into a catastrophic war for Israel in Iraq, a war that will cost the American people trillions of dollars and that has killed or ruined tens of thousands of American lives (While Jewish dead or wounded are spectacularly underrepresented in those terrible casualties).
The Neocons sold the war, they did not lead the country to war…but Duke’s language is close enough to the truth to hurt, isn’t it?
Christian Americans are also sick of the fact that the Christian meanings of Christmas are being driven from public life, with crosses and nativity scenes banned from public land in our nation’s capital while at Chanukah a huge Jewish Menorah, symbol of Jewish ethnocentrism and Jewish resistance to assimilation, is put across from the White House and dedicated by the Jewish extremists of Habad Lubavitch.
Duke is partially right. Chabad should be driven from both the white house and the public square, and he is correct that their demands for public parity are meshugah.
Does Duke exaggerate a bit? Sure. He is a conspiracy theorist? Absolutely. But he hits far too closely to the reality far too frequently for any of us to be comfortable with where we are as a community, or for where we have helped push this great country in recent years.

The rhetorics of more-educated racists typically blends (subjective) facts with accusations. It’s their key to the frontdoors of the educated bourgeoisie - it were the fraternities that initially established Nazi ideology at European universities and took action to remove “non-national” professors.
Chabad at the White House?. Never.
Well, it is a small step from Pat Buchanan to David Duke, DK, and now you’ve taken it. Once you openly endorse the code word “neocon” for “kikes,” your odd political configuration and “issues” about orthodox Judaism (to which Chabad bears a frequent resemblance) compels you to make common cause with Nazis — ironically, to perpetuate the Big Lie that Israel wanted, campaigned for, or needed the Iraq War.
You know I am no Zionist and probably am more contemptuous of the State of Israel than you are. I also love a good contrarian argument and don’t look down my nose at provocation, either. But you’re in Norman Finkelstein territory now.
Ron, I never said that Israel wanted or campaigned for this stupid war. Israel did not. However, the Neocons did, and the Neocons did in part because they believed it to be good for Israel. They did so without consulting Israel, of course, because the Neocons know everything, and don’t need to consult anybody ever.
Additionally, the Neocons did not lead the country to war, Bush, Cheney, and the industrialists did that, but rather, the Neocons SOLD the war. There is a difference.
That post was a smorgasboard of “what?!” if I ever I saw one.
“The Neocons” — can you get me the minutes of that board meeting of “The Neocons”?
I think they sell them at those tables in the Port Authority next to the incense sticks.
Ron,
You know there ARE Neocons. If you want to start with two hardline periodicals, might I suggest Commentary and the NY Sun. Or would you prefer a dialog between the two?

Illegal immigration is a consequence of massive population growth in Third World populations not be matched by economic growth. A massive and increasing differential exists between per capita income between the First and the Third worlds making illegal immigration inevitable. Such immigration has disastrous consequences for the working class in the West who are economically (and consequently morally) undermined. In order to prevent such immigration, the West would have to take measures to defend its borders which would be illiberal and inhumane. Catching and deporting illegal immigrants is no deterrent because they can always try again and eventually will get through. The only way to stop illegal immigration would be to protect the borders as in wartime. You do not have to be a Jew or a neocon to be uncomfortable with the idea of machine gunning illegals attempting to cross borders. To avoid that uncomfortable reality, those who can afford to escape having to confront ‘these ‘people who are not like us’ and the plight of the working class because the alternative is not worth thinking about. Poor rednecks have no such escape.
Reb Leibish,
What do you suggest they do? And do you believe tariffs on products coming from nations with poor labor records and practices would help at all?
Reb Leibish, this isn’t a new issue. In the 50’s, Operation Wetback rounded up nearly 30,000 Mexicans- some who had illegally entered the country and others who were actually American citizens.
And, don’t forget, in the late 1800’s, the Chinese Exclusion Act singled out one ethnic group that could not emigrate to the US because they were happy to be take the place of striking workers (many of them other immigrants) and freed plantations slaves, doing jobs no one else wanted- at rock-bottom wages. Sound familiar?
This is a perpetual problem- only the ethnicities change according to the era. And keep in mind, also, that we have different levels of tolerance for different countries. Poor Hispanics who’ve sneaked across the border have a tougher time than well-heeled Indians who have come over with an H1-B visa (because the government and industry interests are truly convinced that America’s numerous unemployed IT workers actually enjoy being out of work are not as competent and hard-working as cheaper more tech-savvy imported labor.
Here’s a great review article that I found a few years back from the WaPo. It gives a little perspective on the complexity of the situation.

Wow, DK, the text sure does read differently without all those html-y strikethroughs I stuck in that last post! Sorry for any confusion in the 2nd to the last paragraph. Beer (after Pesach) for anyone who actually understands what I wrote.
How was the war in Iraq a “war for Israel”?
How has Israel’s security situation improved due to the war?
These are the sorts of questions the neocon (Jew) obsessed dolts like Duke never seem to be able to answer. Blaming Jews for privatization and “globalization” is one step away from saying Jews control the international banking system. It’s sad to see you falling for this stuff. First Buchanan and now Duke? Sometimes I’m not sure if you write things just to get a rise out of people or if you actually believe it.
Many people who read the NY Sun and Commentary are not reactionary idiots. I find the Sun is a nice antidote to the NY Times my wife gets on the weekends. And the article by Peter Feaver on Iraq in this month’s Commentary was excellent.
Have a great Pesach.
“How was the war in Iraq a “war for Israel”?”
For the Neocons, it was a war to spread democracy. They foolishly believed this would stop Muslim Arab rage against Israel.
How has Israel’s security situation improved due to the war?
It has not. If the Neocons would have bothered to check with Israel, they might have heard the downside possibilities. But they didn’t , because they were consumed by American exceptionalism and their own arrogance.
Blaming Jews for privatization and “globalization” is one step away from saying Jews control the international banking system.
Jews are not the industrial forces behind either privatization nor globalization. However, they are often the most eloquent theorists for both, and this can be seen from the father of privatization, Milton Friedman, to the laymen preachers such as Thomas Friedman. Not that we are the only ones, but we are highly disproportionate in terms of explicating justifications for these policies.
Adam Smith was Calvinist, so let’s blame those.
