Touched by Big Aish

Part IV

Nancy Cuevas Guzman alleges
,

Speaking of sex harassment, a rabbi at Aish HaTorah took my hand and placed it on his crotch…he had an erection. That was my first wake up call. When any of these guys, even a rabbi, sees an American woman, Baal Teshuva, he thinks he has a victim.
They know they can easily “de-rail her”….like placing a stone before a blind person. Many young girls…and older, fall in love with their rabbis. This one wanted me as his concubine in addition to his wife.

I reported it and it seems they have handled it.

Okay, now it is straining credulity a bit. A rabbi did what???

I’d think that point would have come up earlier.

Not calling her a liar, but it seems kind of odd that it comes near the end of the whole story sequence like an afterthought. Some ill-behaved black hat twits rubbing on her butt is one thing, but an actual rabbi from Aish no less doing a reverse cop a feel?

and why is this so strange? do u think that rabbis are any different than priests? reality check! look at what’s going on in the jewish world today - jewish women wearing burkas and abusing their children, etc. it so happens that this particular rabbi’s wife is no longer married to him, either. just because it’s aish doesn’t make them immune. what baruch lanner did was a busha and this rabbi is no different. they bring shame to all of the rabbis that are good men.

either ur very naive, or u have trouble accepting the truth. who the hell cares when she mentioned it? it happened, and she mentioned it now. all of this garbage is being brought up to make people aware of what’s happening in the hareidi world. we already know that it happens elsewhere, but when it happens among the hareidim, the first instinct is to sweep it under the rug. well, not this time. there are people to back this up, and they’re not afraid to come forth and tell the truth. they’re always told, “oh, u can’t go public with that. it’ll cause irreparable damage to the community! it’s lashon hara!” screw it! and disgusting men who have been ordained as rabbis, teachers that we’re supposed to trust, should be allowed to continue this sort of conduct? it’s about time that someone spoke out and people put a stop to the abuse.

it’s no wonder that jews turn away from the religion. it’s twisted by these men who believe that they have immunity, and can do whatever the hell they want and get away with it. G-d created the jewish people as a holy nation. do u think we’re worthy of that honor?

“I’d think that point would have come up earlier.”

It’s where/when I decided to publish. I got all this stuff mostly around the same time.

btw, i am shomeret shabbat. i believe in the religion of judaism, but as it was given to and taught by moshe rabeinu. not by the people who have taken it and turned it into something else today. we are to strive to be good jews, who keep the mitzvot, and to make the world a better place to live in. we’re not being terribly successful and we have a lot of work to do. Hashem gave the torah to the jewish people for a reason. now it’s our job to live up to HaShem’s expectations. if we don’t, then it is our own fault.

first of all I have to say dk despite everything I think the title is pretty damn clever

second, let’s keep in mind that this scumbag violated halacha according to almost everyone’s standard. he doesn’t represent religious judiasm or aish anymore than all priests are child molesters, all imams are terrorists or all americans are selfish.

Its not part of aish’s “agenda” to do this kind of stuff. its to bring you into their way of thinking as you have documented before. sure there are scumbags in every group but if I remember this is the first example of this that you can document from aish. sure it sucks and this guy should be taken out back but its not all religious jews and you know it.

FB,

I never said it was.

7 factual basis { 07.25.08 at 10:34 am }

but you kinda imply it when you publish things like this. I know you don’t say it outright, but if you aren’t saying that, what’s the purpose of the post? (maybe I’m missing the point)

FB,

The problem is not that most haredim perform anti-social behaviors. The problem is how haredi communties respond to those individuals and even vigilante groups who do.

Ah, I assumed you were going strictly chronologically in bits from whole material. Okay.
