Who is this Zalman guy who worked at Ohel Sarah Imenu?

Frightened voices are starting to spread on the internet against Mrs. Vorst and Ohel Sarah Imenu. Some of them are quite sad…all are afraid that their conversion will be revoked if they speak out against this program.

One person wrote,

i just came across this websight and all this information tonight. i had no idea that people were talking about this stuff openly.

This one is heartbreaking.

i must have this be anonymous… i too was in mrs vorst school …i have been silent for a long time about the things that went on there while i was a student… and i am afraid that if i address them or speak of them publically that my conversion will be taken away…. i know this is a big possibility… especially now with the big conversion ballygan.

i too was lied to by the big rabbi(s)…. there is so much i could say… but i am cautious because i am afraid of mrs vorsts (and her sidekick) power over my conversion. but the things nancy is saying are all true… and many many more stories could be told.

people should be made aware of the sickness of this system and the particular situation there so that more girls and women who come to Israel with sincerity and pure hearts are not caused so much suffering.

i am sorry i have been silent for so long…

And then, there is something apparently going on with some guy named Zalman whom the commenter describes as a “pervert.”

does anyone know if this person (zalman) has been prosecuted? also does anyone know if Mrs Vorsts has made an official statement concerning her schools association with this person? has she checked to see if any of her students were affected” has she issued any apologies to her former students for dragging them into his arena against their wills?

while i was in her program we were forced to attend his foolish seminars and girls and women were “forced” to have counseling with him (forced because if you didn;t do what they wanted you to do, they would not let you get converted).

i personally know a young woman who he was extremely inappropriate with (she believes she was possibly even drugged…btw…she has taken several years to heal emotionally from the abuse she suffered at Ohel Sarah and other conversion “schools” in israel… and after they took thousands of her dollars, she never has been able to get a conversion…).

i had one “counseling” session with him and thought he was an idiot… i never could fathom why mrs vorst and mrs lawson were so enamoured with him. it didn’t take a rocket scientist or a Torah scholar to see that the man was a joke… a sick joke…

Anyone have any info?

I am not afraid of that notorious SARAH VORST, also known as SARAH KRAMER also known as the DEVIL IN YERUSHALMY DRESS!….That little flee and her parasitic sidekick MICHAELA LAWSON should be quarantined and shipped off to LOONY VILLE.

I too have been a victim of their “school”. People PLEASE DO NOT go to this place! Ohel Sarah Imenu is a cesspool of caniving, vindictive, narcissistic leaches that will literally send you to the crazy house (it has happened) or have you contemplate suicide (also has happened). Please ladies. I write this comment not out of hate or bad will towards VORST OR OSI, but out of serious and genuine concern for anyone who dares to venture into this mockery of Judaism. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and by the way. The minute you meet Vorst in her run down, funky, cluttered, shack in Nachlaot, you’ll definately know that something is up. Follow your instincts people.

glad to hear that ur not afraid. if this is, indeed, the case, i suggest u contact rav shimon at nachalat tzvi and speak to him about this. he is willing to bring this out into the open. he only speaks hebrew, though, so if u only speak english, then ul need a translator.

b’hatzlacha!

I have been silently reading these comments for quite some time now. I’ve decided to have my voice heard. I’ve started my own blog about this whole thing.

You all should not try to put yourselves out there if you have any doubts you can handle it. I have some experience and I know that we are all ambitious in the beginning but then it gets scary. We wish to avoid more abuse and the people we are reporting about are expert abusers. I personally do not want to associate with corrupt people, so I don’t care if they hate me. But to those women who are planning on living in the same back yard which they just exposed, this can be tough. The abusers are manipulators that thrive on your guilt and use those Lashon Hara laws to conceal their motives. Yet Mrs. Vorst, after receiving Lashon Hara, passed it on to me. It was malicious talk about a neighbor and when I checked on the story, the party who Mrs. Vorst received the Lashaon Hara from told me personally that she “made it all up in order to hurt our neighbor!” You see, Lashon Hara is a manipulation used by these
programs to CONTROL YOU AND PROTECT THEM. It’s brilliant and it works!

You cannot jump off a building and go half-way, then say “uh, oh”. I see that the “anonymous people” who are too afraid to come forward enough to even state a name are also too afraid of Lashon Hara to run such a web site. That is to be expected. The thought is appreciated but perhaps it is best to join forces with other more established cases rather than risk starting and then falling apart. Your help is needed and appreciated and I am available to anyone who desires to become involved. But, as I posted in the comments on Jewcy.com, “Haredi’s Most Wanted”:

I also discourage reporting abuse to private parties…Here is real help:

The organization that has come to the aid of converts, ITIM, a nonprofit headed by Rabbi Shaul Farber who helps converts navigate the bureaucracies of the religious establishment. Telephone: 972 2 648 2205. E-mail: shaul {at} itim.org(.)il.

Rabbi Farber is an activist and Torah Scholar who handles the most difficult conversion cases. So far, he is the only help I know of.

You all should be going to people who have the life tools, experience and resources to help you. Don’t take it on yourself and then bail. Leave it to the professionals. It seems there is no where to turn, but there is some help.

The ladies reporting abuse by Ohel Sarah Imenu and Rabbi Eisenstein’s private Beit Din are like pioneers for not many have fought back and survived intact. Let’s be smart. Let’s join forces. The Haraedim show us that there is strength in numbers.

i am another victim of the raping rabbi zalman cohen and i am going to stop him - no matter revenge he takes on me. he is cruel, vicious and destroys those who speak out against him.many people have tried to stop him over the 25 years he has been drugging and raping woman here. now he made a mistake - he raped me and i am going to get him for every one of his victims. nothing will stop me. i am complying all the info i get about him - every single person who helped, aided, abetted him in any way - is going down with him
famous rabbi’s beware- ruth is going to bring you all down- and dont even think of messing with me.i have been through a very hard life and can take anything you can throw at me.nothing is more powerful and blessed by the heavens than the truth. the truth will out - be prepared for a bumpy ride. maybe you should pack your bags for mars.

I suggest for people who want to convert with trustworthy people, you contact either Nachalat Tzvi, under the management of Rav Ya’akov Shimon, that has handled thousands of the indian conversians of the Peruvians and the Bnai Manashe from India, or you just go to the Rabbinute and let them find you a place. For all the Haredi propaganda, the fact is that it is usually the same rabbis converting people…and if you hear a rabbi has been kicked off a Beit Din like “Rabbi” Eisenstein, it’s usually got nothing to do with hs piety as Sarah Vorst would have you believe, and everything to do with the fact that he is crooked or a pervert.

Finally, we have just finished Yom Kippur so I highly recommend you avoid needless slander and Lashon Hara. Remember that Lashon Hara is a sin against man and Hashem and can’t ever be fully atoned for.

i know nofia unfortunately for her.
nofia has some very weird friends who are in the pervert club.
i know them personally.

so you see folks zalman and his friends are reading what we are writing so they can plan how to survive another day.

i plan to send all t he perverts back to sodom and gomorrah

dont be fooled by this guilt trip of lashan hara - it means protecting the rapists in our midst.

rapists, and your foul friends, beware, i am on the loose and not going to be shut up. you will all be exposed.

Ever notice that it’s only lashon hara when it’s spoken against frum Jews?

10 DK { 10.12.08 at 12:47 am }

yup.

11 jmom { 11.16.08 at 6:59 am }

I can understand the Jewish posters and their desire to be heard, but why give known missionaries the same right? Ruthless Ruth is well known as a missionary in the center of Jerusalem. Her attacks on the Rabbi who exposed her 6 years ago as a missionary are treated with the contempt they deserves in the neighborhood. As it happens the other allegations against the Rabbi are equally ludicrous, stemming from a woman who tried to seduce him and was refused. Obviously, some of your posters enjoy unsubstantiated rumors. That is the right. Listening to missionaries is not.

12 Jeff Eyges { 11.16.08 at 8:38 am }

Of course. Just keep drinking the KoolAid.

Pursuant to what I said earlier - ever notice that it’s only an “unsubstantiated rumor” when it’s leveled against a frum person? If some Hareidi rov wants to go to town on a frei person, or even a Hareidi from a competing sect - then whatever he says is accepted without qualification.

No frum person has ever said or done anything wrong. No frei person has ever said or done anything right. Never has, never will.

13 Sarah/froylein { 11.16.08 at 12:11 pm }

Jeff, even without only portraying the extremes, there are so many things about this entire story that are so strikingly off-base that it makes the rest dubious at the very least.

Jmom commented on the character of a particular person she apparently has more knowledge of than most or even all readers; she didn’t whitewash all frum people’s wrongdoings. Not all frum people are bad per se; not all kiruv workers are bad [as in having bad intentions] per se. One can be critical without gullibly gobbling up any soup they are served.

14 Jeff Eyges { 11.16.08 at 1:33 pm }

Nevertheless, I stand by what I said - two sets of standards, frum and frei. Always have been, always will be.

15 Sarah/froylein { 11.16.08 at 3:02 pm }

Jeff, I could claim the same, i.e. that allegedly progressive freethinkers have considered themselves superior over religious / religiously more stringent people ever since the Enlightment.

16 Jeff Eyges { 11.16.08 at 8:38 pm }

Well… we are!

(Anyway, that’s a different issue entirely, and you know that.)

17 Sarah/froylein { 11.16.08 at 10:51 pm }

Both claim to be bearers of the truth. Both apply their standards of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’.
