Blog tracking religious life in Israel

August 5, 2008   Uncategorized

Religion and State in Israel is a great blog tracking how the ultra-Orthodox are oppressed by the government in the Middle East’s only democracy because they hate frum people.

Kidding! Anyway, some great info over there, and I will be pulling from that blog (and hat tipping like the mensch that I am ;) when it affects the Diaspora. Joel Katz (the editor) is more into religious left stuff than I am, because he probably doesn’t realize that rescuing Judaism from the haredim is about as good a use of resources as winning the War in Iraq.

So…now is as good a time as any…what do you think of the term, “Harediban” for our most aggressively fahfrumpt?

You’re horrible. I’m continually disappointed in your lack of regard for Israel.

“Harediban”

Hilarious.

Thank you for the heads up. Interesting blog to read.

It also points up that JPost is not sweeping everything under the rug and not reporting on the brouhahas, given the number of articles linked to. Be nice if more reports on the chicanery in the rabbinate leadership jockeying were made.
