Rabbi Ethan Katz of NCSY and the JSU Misleads the Non-Orthodox
March 11, 2009 NCSY Jewish Student Union (JSU), Rabbi Ethan Katz
Rabbi Ethan Katz, NJ’s JSU advisor, who JUST HAPPENS to be Assistant Regional Director of New Jersey NCSY, claims,
“There is no active recruiting to Orthodox programs,” said Katz.
Of course not. True, they may “invite” public students to attend Latte and Learning. And true, from there they encourage public school students to attend the Shabbatons. And true, NCSY international director and JSU “dean” Rabbi Steven Burg credited this trek for their “success,” noting, “This is how we make them frum“ on a video that NCSY deleted from google videos as soon as I publicized it, but none of that is “active.” It’s just…you know…passive. In passing. Sometimes Learning and Latte programs are mentioned. That’s all. That’s not “recruitment.”
Clearly.
