So, through twisted rabbinic logic, Madoff is a bigger mentsch than the man who saved 155 people from almost certain death.

It never fails. They begin with a premise, you think you know where they’re headed, then they jerk suddenly to one side, leaving you scratching your head and thinking “WTF?” The Talmud is absolutely full of this sort of thing. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am not frum (not that anyone cares).
