Time to push back

February 4, 2010   Haredim, Humor, Jewish Community, Kiruv

Big Kiruv is on the march!

The haredim, thanks to NCSY, are recruiting straight from our public schools. Hillel is cooperating with Ohr Somayach, Meor Israel, Big Aish, JAM, and a bucket of other like-minded, deceptive, predatory, Big Kiruv organizations. It is not stopping anytime soon. Rather, these parasitic, blood-sucking organizations will continue to expand. Containment is failing.

So what do we do?

We need to aggressively begin recruiting young ultra-Orthodox Jews to secularism. They will go apeshit if that works, or if it even threatens to work. Websites, flyers, organizations, etc.

And the more violently the frum react, the the better. The frum are running out of time to recruit the masses of Liberal and secular Jewry. And their penchant for victimology is their weakness. It isn’t hard to get them to lash out in an offensive and abrasive manner. They can’t help themselves.

They are very big kikes.

Whoa! Too much! I know it’s supposed to be over the top, but seriously it’s too much.

I could get into that, actually – but I wonder how far we’d get. I’ve become convinced that fundamentalism/authoritarianism has a neurological foundation. I don’t think it’s caused by environment, merely reinforced by it. Still, increasing numbers are managing to get out, and if we only converted a handful, it would get their attention. And you know I’m always up for anything that will piss them off. I mean, I can only go to Gehinnom once, right?

BTW, is that one of the hipster chicks from Heeb?

DK you remind me of my punk rock days. We used to hate those bastard rude boys and kids into ska and we would stop at nothing to talk sh%t on them and try to get them to get into some real music and a real lifestyle. Its a total parallel of your obsession with the Torah way. When you look back at this accomplishment 10 years from now I wonder how proud you will be of it.

I really would be intrested in working with people to be mekarev haredim to rational thought. All the organizations that work with former haredim are so careful to state they don’t encourage people to get out.

I sometimes try to make clear to people who put on tefillin at a chabbad stand what the are actually supporting, or that when the chabbadnik tells them to repeat yechi after them, what it actually means. But I would want to do something more orgnized.

More important than all of that would be to make people realize that giving money to hardeimm to make themselves feel good is very bad for them. http://www.jewishideas.org/blo.....against-us

anyone want to get involved in a real project?
