I guess since Jewcy writer Abe Greenwald is inline with the ADL over their outrage over McCain’s “disappointing� preference for a Christian president, there won’t be a daring protest at the 92nd Street Y over this one.

Anyway, just so you know, I will take this issue very seriously. Just as soon as Israel elects a Christian prime minister. Not a moment later.

Just as Jews were celebrating the High Holidays, a major, major reason for communal distress was found in New Jersey. Anti-Semitic cornfields.

Fox News reports,

As Jews around the world gathered in synagogues last Friday night to mark the start of Yom Kippur — the Day of Atonement — someone was apparently busy fashioning a massive swastika into several acres of a cornfield in Washington Township, N.J.

The swastika was spotted by a New Jersey State Police helicopter during a routine maintenance mission.

Local residents told the Star Ledger newspaper of Newark, N.J., that they were unaware of the reviled symbol of hate.

Now, some of you may think this is an isolated incident. It is not. In fact, it happens all the time. Like say, just last millennium.

Another swastika — this one estimated to be 130 square feet— was carved in the field in July 1998, and a bigger 600-by-600 foot version of the Nazi symbol was found in a nearby cornfield almost a year later, the newspaper reported. No arrests were made in either incident.

Please, friends, try to avoid (after nightfall) cornfields (in the Newark environs) until these cornball hate criminals are apprehended. At least, don’t frequent them alone. I realize this is a tremendous inconvenience, but one must be cautious.

The Anti-Defamation League said the swastika “shows the persistence of anti-Semitism and hate.”

Obviously, it goes without saying that the ADL should immediately be sent a check.

One of the strange aftermaths of the Duke debacle is the question of race and sexual attacks. Is there a greater chance white men will assault a black women than a black man will assault a white woman? According to numbers, the answer should be yes, simply because there are many more white men than black men in the U.S.

The Duke case was not the first time some screamed bloody murder over a bogus rape charge of white men against a black woman. The agitators claimed they wanted a discussion of race and rape. Well, it appears they are getting one, and it isn’t what they had in mind.

Is this possibly because the truth is the inverse of what they (and others) want it to be?

Robert Lindsay writes,

An incredible anecdote: In a 3-yr period in the US, there were 9,000 cases of group Black on White sexual assaults - about 10 per day. In that same 3-year period, Whites, with a 4.5 times greater population, committed exactly zero group sexual assaults on Blacks. That figure alone is simply stunning.

The Left loves to talk about hate crimes, but the only hate crimes they are interested in are White hate crimes against non-Whites. The report makes it quite clear that Blacks are much more likely to commit hate crimes against Whites than vice versa.

What is fascinating is that the media plays up White on Black hate crimes for weeks on end as the crime of the century, while Black on White hate crimes are met with deafening silence from the media. That right there would seem to give the lie to the notion that the US media is hopelessly prejudiced against Blacks and in favor of Whites. If anything, the opposite seems to be the case.

I have also asked friends if these statistics are real. Most have said no, but no one has explained how they are flawed. Lawrence Auster claimed in Front Page Magazine that,

In the United States in 2005, 37,460 white females were sexually assaulted or raped by a black man, while between zero and ten black females were sexually assaulted or raped by a white man.

What this means is that every day in the United States, over one hundred white women are raped or sexually assaulted by a black man.

Why this is a Jewish issue

No one has been a bigger supporter of Hate Crimes than Jewish defense groups. And Hate Crimes seem to target white crimes against others, and are only reluctantly enforced against those who attack regular whites. The underlying fear seems to assume that white crimes against minorities is a significant problem. But the statistics seem to say something quite different.

Additionally, our ownership of media outlets is, well, disproportionate.

If there is a blackout on these types of crimes, we have a strong hand in enforcing it. Why is that?

And what exactly are we afraid of?

I have declined to comment on Foxman’s Armenian genocide scandal so far, though I am certainly no fan of Abe Foxman generally.

But Jewcy and others are attacking Abe for the wrong reasons. The problem with Foxman is that Foxman attacks and barks as if the Holocaust itself justifies his personal rule over the parameters of politically acceptable speech, and he does so on behalf of the general Jewish community, whether dead or alive. All who defy his will risk being deemed an “anti-Semite.� That’s the problem, not a need for Foxman consistency.

What is the benefit of “consistency� here? The benefit is that Joey Kurtzman and the whole Jewcy mishpacha get to look like badass idealists willing to challenge the Jewish “defense� organization status quo, and show they are very big universalists not confined to shtetl-like thinking.

This is, in and of itself, of some value, as the Jewish community needs to distance itself publicly from the ADL, who is usually creating much more harm than good, because the ADL’s interests are not our interests, but the interests of a narrow, specific type: his donor base.

But what is the cost of championing this specific cause? The cost is a further agitation to the Turkish-Israeli alliance, which is the most critical Muslim ally to Israel. Turkey is important in so many ways to the Jewish state. Emergency water supply plans, intelligence sharing, political shield from the EU, etc., etc. And yet, these punks have no qualms threatening that alliance, a relationship already under pressure. The new Turkish president, Abdullah Gul, has an Islamist past, and perhaps retains some of those ambitions. And he is not happy about what is happening with the U.S. Jewish community’s support of Armenian remembrance. I am going to go out on a limb that those in Turkey who resent Turkey’s alliance with the Jewish state just might be using this issue to further question the alliance generally.

You think the Armenians just want acknowledgement? I doubt that. I would suspect they want retribution. That means resolutions of condemnation, but it also may mean the right to sue Turkey. And I don’t blame them for that, but this is not our fight. And guess which genocide-centric community is going to be expected to back that also?

As the moderate-Left Forward (and no fan of Abe Foxman) notes in this week’s editorial,

As for the Armenian tragedy, as real as we know it to be, the fact is that Israel desperately needs the friendship of Turkey, its most important ally, and that friendship comes with a painful price tag. Remembering genocide is important, but not as important as saving lives today.

Foxman’s ADL is a problem. But Jewcy’s specific demand for Jewish communal support of the Armenian community carries an unfortunate byproduct, the implicit, concurrent attack on a crucial Israeli ally.

Jewcy and friends should have done a cost-benefit analysis before going apeshit. If they did, then they clearly harbor a most unsympathetic view towards consideration of the Jewish state’s needs. If they didn’t, then they are classic, irresponsible, Diaspora Luftmentshen.

Update: Joey Kurtman Responds.

The NY Sun reports,

The principal, Debbie Almontaser, was quoted yesterday interpreting T-shirts that say “Intifada NYC” as not an endorsement of violence but rather “an opportunity for girls to express that they are part of New York City society … and shaking off oppression.” She followed the word’s literal Arabic meaning, which is “struggle” or “uprising.”

Some people are upset about this, for reasons beyond my fathom. Clearly when most of us think of the historical oppression of Arab women, one of the first things that comes to mind is New York City.

Anyway, Ms. Almontaser qualified her support for these t-shirts, as she understands that people might not understand intifada as restricted to the peace loving context she clearly meant. So no big whoop!

Who is this idiot principal, you may ask? She is the principal of the Khalil Gibran school, a new “charter� school that seeks to service an Arabic population that wants an Arabic focus, in both language and culture.

Just what NYC needs.

Who supports this idea? A lot of important Jews. Like Abe Foxman of the ADL (Asinine Dumbkoff League) and Joel Klein, NYC school chancellor. Why? Because they think it will teach tolerance.

Want to know what work better? Ending mass immigration from countries with populations hostile to the U.S. But no. We can’t do that. That would be the sensible thing to do. And after all, we were oppressed once too! We must always emphasize common oppression with others, even if the histories and the situations have precious little in common, and even if we are endangering our own community, and the U.S. herself.

As long as we retain victim status at least in our own eyes and to some degree n the public space, no matter what the cost is to such a foolish immigration and a multi-cultural policy, it’s worth it.

Right?

The JTA discusses poll statistics of the ADL with Abe Foxman. His group designed the polls, and then Abe himself offers the interpretation. That way we get two different opinions!

Were European Jewish leaders involved at all? Do they have anything to say?

No. Screw them. We just need to hear from our self-appointed prosecutor, judge, and jury. We can trust him, and him alone. He wouldn’t fudge statistics. Not one bit. This guy is a straight shooter.

A November 2006 study by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, associated with Germany’s Social Democratic Party, showed that 18 percent of Germans considered Jewish influence “still too much.” Foxman said the differing results from poll to poll could be the result of many variables. But “one out of five is serious, too,” he noted.

I really can’t stand hypersensitivity to antisemitism. Maybe it’s because I’m self-hating, maybe it’s because I’m not a Conservative rabbi, or maybe it’s because I’m not a fundraising whore like Abe Foxman. I really can’t be sure.

One can only wonder what motivated Judith Regan to make a Jewish issue out of her dispute with the News Corporation’s HarperCollins.

Yes, one could wonder. One could scratch one’s head in sorrow and sadness that bigotry continues to raise its ugly head even in the most prestigious and intellectual of industries, and see exactly why the ADL is so very important to the Jewish community and why this canard is proof that we need to redouble our efforts to teach tolerance in the hopes that one day such horrible incidents will finally cease to exist on such a frequent and troubling level. In the meantime, one can wonder. OR one can pause for a moment and note that the reason Ms. Regan pointed out the “Jewish issue� of her opponents was because the most powerful ones are, in fact, apparently Jews. That, juxtaposed with the fact that Regan is a nightmare bitch of the first order who would make her opponents red socks an issue (if that’s what she determined was at her disposal for hurling insults and abuse) might possibly make one wonder just a bit less.

Let us be clear. Regan is a bitch. Not an antisemite. And quite frankly, there should be a lot more defense agencies in the world against scary bitches like Regan. But this is simply not the mandate of the ADL as it is not an issue of antisemitism.

As Alana Newhouse wrote in the Forward,

The problem with this storyline is that, among the many charges that have been leveled against Regan — including but not limited to being a manipulator, a tormentor of employees and a legendary narcissist — antisemitism is the least supportable. Indeed, if observers and former employees are to be believed, it might be one of the few transgressions of which she is not guilty…If a brief scan of Regan’s greatest hits is any indication, her repertoire of verbal insults brims with stereotyping of all kinds, with nearly every group caught in the crosshairs of her equal-opportunity offending at one time or another. When viewed in the broader context of her personality, it seems obvious that these comments are driven not by authentic prejudice but by a need to provoke and offend.

Regan may be a witch. But her alleged comments are not grounds for a witch hunt.
