Was a Bolshevik Jewish nationalist behind AMREN’s conference cancellation?
New information has surfaced about the One People’s Project that suggests that a prominent member, Josh Hoyt, was the brains and operator behind the successful campaign to cancel the AMREN conference rather than Jeffrey Imm.

Solidarity with those we disagree with
“If you hold this conference I will go in there and shoot you.”
If we do not allow for free speech for those whom we disagree with and perhaps even scare us just a bit, how much do we truly value free speech? And if the AMREN conference is now suddenly aborted because of threats and pressures, what has happened to our nation? What Jeffrey Imm and the “One People’s Project” have done is horrible. It is a blatant form of reverse discrimination.

Affirmative Action on Fire
Often when decrying affirmative action, I bring the example of medical practitioners. But affirmative action can kill in many fields.
Like say, with firemen.
Steve Sailer explains that unfortunately, the Obama administration is defending affirmative action, demanding a jettison of tests which do what they are supposed to do: ensuring that only the competent are promoted.
No blacks scored high enough to qualify for promotions. On the Lieutenants’ exam, the mean black score would have fallen at the 20th percentile among whites. (Hispanics scored the same as blacks). On the harder Captain’s exam, the mean black score fell at the 10th percentile for whites, while the average Hispanic scored at the 18th percentile.
[...]
There is nothing surprising or anomalous about these percentiles. They’re almost identical to blacks’ and Latinos’ results on professional school tests such as the LSAT used by law schools and the MCAT employed by medical schools.
[...]
This leads to even more pretzel logic. Thus New Haven claimed that it wasn’t discriminating against white firemen—it was just trying to avoid being sued for discriminating against blacks!
[Links deleted: see them on VDARE.]
What kind of person puts affirmative action over the improved safety of the population that is supposed to be being served? The kind of person who doesn’t plan on being caught in a fire. That’s who.

Steinlight’s Interview by Luke Ford
Some interesting statements by Dr. Stephen Steinlight from his interview with Luke Ford, which lasted two hours and forty minutes.
If comprehensive immigration reform were ever to pass, Heaven help us, it would have the most enduring and palpable impact on this country of any piece of legislation since the Emancipation proclamation. The heart of that legislation is not amnesty. That’s a weapon of mass distraction. The heart of that is doubling legal immigration. Given the way the system works, the engine of extended family reunification, chain immigration, it will mean 60 million to 100 million more Mexicans here in 20 years.
Steinlight’s critique of the social-Left was delicious.
Those people who fall over backwards to want to be loved by people of color, by Muslims, by anyone who’s skin tone is darker, who feel fundamentally ashamed to be Americans, who feel we need to apologize for who we are, whether it is because we’re white or because we belong to this culture, those people are all in favor of this because it is some kind of justifiable retribution.
“God spare us all from tikkun olam Jews. The rural white poor in this country, they despise. They no longer particularly like blacks because their self-loathing love was not requited. Right now they think they can patronize hispanics. I’ve got news for them — it ain’t going to be for long.
I wish they’d stop and think for a minute. Their support of this particular group, someone else is paying the price. You’re not. You’re probably college educated and have a decent job, and if not, mommy and daddy is going to take care of you. But what about folks who work for a living and have no expectations of inherited wealth? Those people are being slaughtered.
What they are always soliciting is the approval of the other, of the foreign. They see themselves as borderless humanists, the last group of people in the world I would trust to do anything. Why is it that their passion always increases in direct proportion to the distance between themselves and where the tragedy is taking place?

Anti-American meaning of Passover from Rabbi Waskow
Amy Klein reports,
On April 5, 1968, Arthur Waskow was walking to his house in Washington among rioters and armed guards. It was a neighborhood under curfew, the night after the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed.
[...]
“I was walking home past the army, and my kishkes began to say, ‘This is Pharaoh’s Army,’ ” recalled Waskow, now a rabbi who lives in Philadelphia.
This is how Rabbi Waskow describes our army and national guard who were merely trying to prevent rioters from burning and destroying our capital after that horrific event.
To describe U.S. efforts to protect our capital from even more extensive destructing than she received in such terms is as bizarre as it is deplorable. Keep in mind, this statement is decades later.
Back then, he was hardly a practicing Jew, and that night, for the first time, he really thought about what freedom meant at the Passover seder.
Uh huh. Clearly the Hagaddah teaches us we shall let the people riot and allow them to destroy their own (and others) neighborhoods. So happy you found meaning in the Exodus story, Rabbi Waskow.
Frightened and inspired, Waskow went on to write a new version of the Haggadah…
Yeah, well, your *contemporary* interpretation is going to need a new text, now, isn’t it?

Irregularities Emerge in Progress By Pesach Petition
Progress By Pesach, which seeks an end to enforcement of our immigration laws and amnesty for its violators, has some typically self-congratulatory news.
Jewish Community Action is happy to say that Progress by Pesach has been overwhelmingly embraced by the American Jewish community.
This is overstating the case. What is true is that the far-Left organizations spearheading Perfidy By Pesach have, horrifically, received endorsement from mainstream Jewish organizations.
While I don’t personally understand how Jews should have a right to dictate immigration policy unilaterally — despite quote after quote recited to me about The Stranger – perhaps I am just a bit slow. There are many far-Left ideas whose logic I have never been able to quite get my little shtetl-head around.
But let’s leave the elusive reasoning of the far-Left aside for the moment, and see if, indeed, has Progress By Pesach been “overwhelmingly embraced by the American Jewish community.”
Well…let’s see. There are millions of American Jews…and Perfidy has collected a total of…1,600 signatures. Now, that might sound pretty overwhelming indeed, except there are some…irregularities.
Looking at these signatures, I found a couple of strange things. I sure hope Obama looks at this list carefully, because some of these people voted, well…twice.

Since many of these are in order, it seems there may have been a computer glitch. I guess HIAS didn’t have time to fix it yet. I’m sure they will. Especially when the signers didn’t even remember to put in their names.

Only the first few hundred were visible. For the sake of transparency, I’m hoping that Perfidy will have an independent organization monitor their final list before they submit it. But I probably wouldn’t bet on it.
Progress By Pesach notes,
1600 + signatures collected, we still need 8,400 more to reach our goal of 10,000
Oh, I’m guessing they’ll get those, come hell or high water. But they may not be Jews, they may not be Americans, they may not be unique signatures, and they may not even have signed any name at all.
It doesn’t matter. They will continue to claim to speak for all of us.

Shai Should Shut Up
Meet Shai Goldstein. He runs the New Jersey Immigration Policy Network. Goldstein’s organization claims to be a “broad-based coalition,” but apparently this “broad-base” is lacking what we in NYC call “economists.”
This Goldstein person is upset with Stephen Steinlight. Dr. Steinlight indelicately explained,
“This stimulus package, which is there to create new jobs, will not even keep up with the surge of immigrants from abroad, let alone help American workers,” he said.
Goldstein got quite huffy, and countered,
“What is going on is a global economic crisis that has nothing to do with immigration or migration,” said Goldstein. Steinlight’s stance “is a completely spurious, obnoxious argument and does not deserve any credence at all.”
Completely spurious? Obnoxious?
Earth to Goldstein. Dr. Steinlight is referencing supply and demand. This is not some wacko Neocon theory. This is economic LAW.
To deny that an influx of labor will not affect the job market AT ALL is absolutely insane. And quite frankly, obnoxious.

The Newest “Progress” Campaign of the Jewish Social-Left
Hear ye, hear ye!
The U.S. Must Stop Enforcing Our Immigration Policies by Passover!
The Jews have spoken. The U.S. must stop enforcing their immigration laws. Rather,
“Immigration Reform, Not Raids”
In other words, if you make illegal immigrants citizens, then they aren’t illegal anymore! The Jews want this policy change finished by Passover. The American government has until Passover to implement this policy. Okay? PASSOVER! Why Passover? Because that’s when we Jews emigrated from Egypt. Egypt was not working out. Hence, this narrative proves that everyone should be able to immigrate anywhere (in the West).
I will give this nonsense a fuller treatment next week, hopefully, but in the meantime, please warn everyone in our community that the Jewish social-Left is speaking on the Jewish community’s behalf, and demanding implementation of some very irresponsible policies.
And do not be fooled by how typically cheesy, typically self-congratulatory, and illogical this campaign sounds to the sober ear. These guys are quite serious. And plenty of money is at stake, such as federal and state contracts for HIAS, who is at the root of this campaign.

Not Comfortable with the Jewish Far-Left
They can be just as obnoxious as the far-right!
I am not terribly comfortable at how Jews have taken such a strident position in favor of gay marriage. I think if Jews are so convinced that this is a universal human right, then maybe they should first agitate to enact this in the Jewish state. But I don’t see them demanding gay marriage in Israel. Rather, they are screaming that they need gay marriage in the U.S.
Jews should take a back seat on this one. Our own civilization and culture hardly dictates this as normative, despite changes enacted five minutes ago. The Reconstructionists, who pride themselves in being eccentric, have decried a democratic referendum against gay marriage in the strongest terms.
Look at how these arrogant Jews dismiss the democratic referendums!
We are saddened and deeply disturbed by the denial of fundamental human rights—to marry, to adopt and care for foster children—to thousands of gay and lesbian citizens across the United States. We are particularly dismayed by the passage of initiatives that have reversed previously recognized equality for same-sex unions.
Oh, you’re dismayed, are you? A “fundamental” right for gays to marry? Based on what history? Based on which civilization?
I would remind these far-Left Jews that it is not their place to push around the American population for the sake of their Tikkun Olam fantasies. The American population is allowed to disagree with the arrogant and privileged Jew in her unremitting quest for a new civil rights war to wage against her country.
The U.S. and her population do not have to line up in-synch with the agenda of the Jewish Reconstructionist movement. I’m so, so, so, so sorry if that hurts Lefty Jews’ feeling. But Americans are allowed to think differently than you. Yes. Yes they are. Now run to the courts and tantrum.
How annoyed am I? Enough to give Rabbi Shafran of Agudath Israel the last word, because this haredi leader actually makes more sense than the pushy Jewish left whom he effectively stuffs.
Rebecca Kaplan, a newly elected Oakland, California city council member, told those gathered outside City Hall how upset she was with the passage of Proposition 8. According to a news report, she “roused the crowd by blowing a shofar, a ram’s horn blown as a wind instrument in Biblical times. She said it represented a call for solidarity.”
Only it doesn’t. It represents a call for teshuva, the Hebrew word for repentance, literally “return” – to the teachings of the Jewish religious tradition.
